Classic Car Detailing: Things to Consider

Classic Car Detailing: Things to Consider

There are many products on the market for detailing you classic car. Most are very expensive and some of them even do what they are supposed to do. Classic car owners tend to buy the best for their cars so shelling out good money for detailing supplies is not an issue.

Once you have the top-of-the-line products, do not ruin your day's work detailing your classic car by not using the correct accessories. As well, wash your car the correct way.

Choose a cool day to detail your car and never wash it in the heat of the sun. If you must wash your car on a sunny day, move it into shade, or, do it in the garage. Having your dirty, soapy water dry instantly will not be good for your car's finish. It will also be added work for you to get the car clean.

Use wash cloths made for cars. Sometimes a cut up t-shirt does not work, and this is one of those times. Use a special car wash sponge and mitt. They are made especially for washing car surfaces. All wash sponges are not created equal! Use a separate sponge and wash mitt for your car tires.

Dry off your car with a large chamois, or better yet, several large chamois. Do not use an old terry towel and do not use a cotton t-shirt or sheet.

Get the best out of your car detailing day by using the best accessories for your detailing products.
