The Mazda Miata

The Mazda Miata

I love classic cars. I love vintage cars. To me, a vintage car is an old car. While each country seems to have different age classifications, a vintage car is typically a car that can be anything from 25 to 50 years old, and older. For me, and I have a different classification system, a classic car can be any age.

Look at the Mazda Miata. Known as the MX5 in Europe, the Miata is one of my all time classic cars. An affordable two-seater sports car, she could turn on a dime, held the road like chewing gum stuck to hair, and was as fast as anything I wanted to drive. She was best suited to long winding coastal roads and the stick shift was much more a pleasure to drive than the automatic.

I remember many Miata Club rides along the roads of Canada and the United states. Police officer's would stop the traffic so 50 cars could all get through the junction together……people would wave, senior citizens – mainly women, would come over to chat……yes, the Miata is definitely one of my classic cars.
